Sahasrara - the infinate chakra

Translation:  sahasrara = thousandfold. Represents the infinite, and understanding of the universe
1 Line Summary: where pure being, consciousness, wisdom, thoughs and infinite energy are represented, understood and start to join with the physical body. Be aware in your life and search for it's meaning
Colour: white light - white is the joining of all the colours together, promotes healing, and resonates at a higher frequency ie brilliant whites that symbolise purity & clarity, white light travels
Location: between the hairline and the bindu (located at the back of the crown of the head), at the 'soft spot' of the anterior fontanel
Represented in the Physical Body by: the entire brain, cerebellum, skull, the whole nervous system, the pituary and pineal gland.
Symbol: thousand petaled lotus flower in full bloom at the crown of the head
Element: light
Sense: beyond the senses ie total stillness and absence of senses to distract the mind
Gemstones:clear quartz, diamond, moonstone, selenite
Purpose:each petal of sahasrara chakra represents a nadi, through which prana is drawn in from the universe, and direct the prana into ajna chakra, which then distributes prana through to the other chakras to be used in life. It is the root of consciousness, and where you can experience bliss of the infinite world beyond life and form. The aim is to allow pure consciousness, wisdom, thought, intelligence (prajna), perception, inspiration and energy to be reflected perfectly through your entire body and life, and not be obscured by illusions (maya). To do this you need to remove the fluctuations in the mind.
Analogy: you feel connected to life in all it's form, a sense of wholeness, respect all life, are aware of life and beyond.
Emotion/feelings. Be aware, and search for meaning of life that you are part of something much larger that brings you closer to the universe/highest states of consciousness, spiritual enlightenment, and self-realisation. We are all it it together, connected by a feeling of humanity, that our souls connect to others in a form of unity recognising and embracing everyone's uniqueness.
Asana: sukhasana, siddhasana, sirsasana, vajarasana, balasana, sasankasana, yoga mudra. Savasana - the time of healing where you integrate your yoga practice with your body. Focus on areas where there are many sensory receptors such as fingertips, lips, tongue, feet and try and feel complete surrender. Once your body is relaxed in savasana, it goes into the sleepless sleep (yoga nidra) so the body can heal itself. You move away from awareness of the senses into relaxed awareness, your brain waves slow down and you move from alpha to theta to delta waves. Meditation is also a good tool for relaxation. My soul is boundless and infinite.
Bandha: n/a
Questions/Feelings: do you feel open, honest, aware of self and others, feel connected to something bigger than you, feel a sense of peace? Do you feel sad when there is less daylight?
